Christmas Part I

Today we got up early (for me anyways) and headed out to Prince Tree Farms. It was way out in South Olive and by the time we got there I thought we had been lost 2 or 3 times. As usual Luke talked the whole car ride, but it was mostly about snowmen, not the Christmas tree. When we got to the tree farm there was so many people! Everyone was parked alongside the road, and it was looking like we weren't the only people who thought today was a perfect day to get a tree. We walked on back and started looking for the tree. Luke fell down a few times because he refused to be carried, and I managed to lose his mitten attempting to carry him. We found a few trees but Mom shot them down, and by the time we found a good tree that more then one of us liked it had been two hours. Luke had snot running down his nose and was really crabby. So Dad got to work and started cutting our tree down. Mom was taking pictures and managed to move right where the tree was falling as it fell, and it didn't hit her cause she ducked but man I was laughing so hard. We had finally found our tree and Luke and Dad were going to carry it out back to the car.

Later today we got the tree in the house and made chex mix, which is tradition around here. Luke kept a eye on everything. Between making sure he got a piece of cereal when it was taken out the oven to be stirred to insisting on going outside to watch Dad cut a few branches of the tree and carry it in the house. It was a really good start to the Christmas holiday around here and hopefully a good start to Luke's first Christmas!

Winter is Here!

We have had some snow off in on never really gathering on the ground, and Luke would get all excited when did snow a little bit. And this week the snow came and stayed for a bit! We bundled Luke up in his snow gear and headed out side. And he loved it! Between shoveling and throwing snowballs or playing with Hunter and the neighbor kids, Luke had a ton of fun!
